Self management debated in Scottish Parliament

On Thursday 29 October 2015, MSPs in the Scottish Parliament debated a motion by Joan McAlpine MSP on volunteering and self management.

Self management is seen as critical to Scotland achieving the 2020 vision for health and social care.

Throughout the debate some of the excellent examples of self management work taking place across Scotland were highlighted, including Diabetes Scotland’s Chinikum project, Aberdeen Foyer’s Impact Project working with people with mental health projects and more.

The ALLIANCE (Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland) have published a full summary of the debate which can be viewed on their website here.
