Before pen touches paper or fingers touch keyboards, it is important to take the time to think, discuss and plan thoroughly. Whether you are providing a new service, writing a new information leaflet or launching an awareness campaign, planning properly increases your chances of being successful and of providing high quality information that meets the needs of your service users.

This section of the website explores some of the fundamental elements of project planning and importantly how to fund your work and get the budget right. And, because we work within an increasingly competitive healthcare environment where commissioning is taking centre stage, you can find information here about how to  build a business case to support investment in information in your organisation. We also take a look at levers and incentives, and how commissioning for information may develop.
