Data on patient-reported outcomes measures (PROMS) has been added to the myNHS section of the NHS Choices website.
The data allows people to check the performance of local hospitals against data for four surgical procedures (hip and knee replacement, groin hernia surgery and varicose vein treatment).
All NHS patients having hip or knee replacements, varicose vein surgery, or groin hernia surgery are invited to fill in PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) questionnaires. PROMs. These ask patients about their health and quality of life before they have an operation, and about their health and the effectiveness of the operation afterwards.
The data can be searched by location or organisation name. It can also be filtered to show key facts, efficiency, safety, food, friends and family test, as well as PROMS.
