    NICE’s Shared Decision Making guideline committee

    NICE are identifying potential early committee members to join NICE’s Shared Decision Making guideline committee. They are seeking committee members to work in collaboration with the NICE Guideline Updates Team (GUT) project team and other guideline committee members in the scoping and development of this new guideline.

    They are seeking the following applicants:

    • GP with a specialist interest in shared decision making
    • an academic (preferably with clinical experience) with a specialist interest in shared decision making
    • lay member with an understanding of shared decision making and the issues important to people using services. This understanding could have been gained:

    o    through personal experience you have of treatment and care provided for you by the NHS

    o    as a relative or unpaid carer of someone who has used relevant health services

    o    as a volunteer or employee of a relevant voluntary organisation or support group.

    Please note, additional committee members will be recruited during the scoping phase to develop this guideline.
