Are you an experienced writer and editor? Do you want to join our award-winning team?
We produce high-quality patient information for people affected by cancer. Our information is published in a variety of formats, including printed booklets and online.
As Content Developer, you will write and revise content on a wide range of topics. These will range from the emotional effects of cancer, to managing its side effects, to its financial implications and what benefits may be available.
Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders and reviewers (specialist and non-specialist), you will ensure all content is accurate and appropriate for the audience. You will also source and write some articles for Mac Voice, our magazine for Macmillan professionals.
Naturally, success in the role demands a high standard of English, solid copywriting/editing skills, accurate proofreading skills and excellent organisational skills which will underpin your ability to deliver resources to deadline.
Evidence of the ability to build highly-effective working relationships with a range of colleagues, including senior professionals, would be advantageous, as would a good understanding of design and layout issues. This will be supported by experience of updating web pages, and ideally some working knowledge of desktop publishing software.
And in return for your enthusiasm and commitment?
We commit to actively developing you and our benefits include a 34.5 hour working week (with an early finish on Friday), BUPA, life assurance, pension, childcare vouchers, generous annual leave, and interest-free loans for season tickets and gym membership.
