primary-ccuk-logo_rgbCrohn’s and Colitis UK are a national charity whose purpose is to improve life for everyone affected by Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis (collectively known as Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBD).  These lifelong and debilitating conditions affect over 300,000 people in the UK with nearly half of those being diagnosed each year under the age of 29.  Our work covers a broad range of activities designed to achieve a better quality of life, improve support and services and, ultimately, find a cure.

We are seeking to recruit a full-time Publications Officer to cover maternity leave on a six-month, fixed-term contract with the possibility to extend. The role will support the Information and Support Services team in the production of more than 40 information sheets, booklets and guides about all aspects of Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. We pride ourselves in producing publications of the highest quality for anyone affected by these conditions, including patients, friends, family, medical professionals and employers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing easy-to-understand health information to support those affected, so that they have the information they need, at the right time and in the format of their choice. Many of our offerings are done according to the rigorous national Information Standard guidelines. The successful candidate also may be involved in video and digital projects, and will be expected to occasionally attend events where we provide information to patients and/or health professionals.

This is an exciting time for the charity. We are the respected source in the UK for information on Crohn’s and Colitis. We are growing rapidly. And we are breaking new ground with a determined ambition to have the greatest impact possible.

The application pack, including job description, person specification, and details for how to apply can be found on the Crohn’s and Colitis UK website.
