    Job role:  Knowledge Officer (Welfare and Social Care)

    Salary:  £36,326.00 per annum (London); £33,560.00 per annum (Fringe); £31,962.00 per annum (National)

    Hours:  35.00 hours per week

    Office location: Flexible across England, Wales and Northern Ireland (with regular travel to London)

    Contract type:  Permanent

    Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

    About the role

    Are you passionate about how high-quality health and social care information can help people affected by dementia?

    We are looking for someone to join a team of staff and volunteers who deliver a range of services, all underpinned by specialist dementia knowledge. The work for this role includes evidencing, writing and review of public-facing dementia content in print and online. The role also helps to deliver an enquiries service, information and training for Alzheimer’s Society staff and volunteers.

    The post sits within our National Services directorate, which provides information and advice, an online community and an online services directory for people affected by dementia. You will join four other Knowledge Officers and work with further staff within the Knowledge Services and Publishing teams.

    About you

    With a good knowledge of health and social care issues, you will be curious with a passion for supporting people affected by dementia. You will have a degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject. You will have significant experience of developing accurate and evidenced written content. You will have knowledge and ideally practical experience of dementia as well as a broad understanding of issues relevant to older or vulnerable people.
