22 week contract as e-health facilitator
Knowledge Transfer Partnership between University of Plymouth and Devon Partnership Trust

Starting salary is £22k per annum pro-rata for 22 weeks.
Holiday is 20 days pro rata, i.e. 2 weeks plus bank holidays

We are looking for a recent (within 3 years) graduate to work as e-health facilitator, employed by the University of Plymouth but based at the Devon Partnership Trust (DPT) in Exeter. The aim of this 22 week short Knowledge Transfer Partnership is to pilot an online client-led short course for mental health professionals on using the Internet.

You will have graduated within the last 3 years with a BSc (Hons) 2:1 or above in a Social Science discipline i.e. Psychology / Occupational Psychology, Social Behavioural Science, Research Methods, Health Sciences, Social Work or similar. The successful applicant must be a highly motivated individual with good research skills and an excellent understanding of how to get the best out of the Internet. Sound experience in using applied computing skills for survey designs, administration and analysis.

The ideal candidate must have excellent IT skills with an understanding of e-learning and e-health practices ideally in an NHS setting and empathy for clients and professionals. You must have a commitment to values that respect Equality and Diversity and be able to find workable solutions to issues. Demonstrating the ability for analytical thinking, good communication and report writing skills are essential in translating academic approaches effectively in a non-academic environment. The successful candidate must pass an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) security

 You will be working with Ray Jones and Graham Williamson from the University of Plymouth (see http://www.plymouth.ac.uk/research/ehealth ), and with Tobit Emmens and colleagues from DPT (http://www.devonpartnership.nhs.uk/).

Timescales

  • Candidates for Exeter interview notified on 13th Sept 2010
  • Face-face interviews in Exeter for selected candidates: 16th Sept 2010
  • Estimated Start Month and Year: end Sept/early Oct 2010

Duration of Project: 22 week fixed term
