Towards a healthily informed patient

Mark Duman, PiF President, attended a round-table discussion event hosted by the Pfizer/ New Statesman Policy Forum on the topic of ‘The Informed Patient.’ Other attendees were Mike O’Brien, Minister of State for Health Services, Peter Barron, Head of Communication and Public Affairs, Google UK and Sir Jonathan Michael, Managing Director of BT Health.
The discussion focussed on giving targeted information to patients, the influence of new technologies, particularly the Internet, the quality of information and understanding users needs. A full report was published by the New Statesman last week. It is not yet available on-line, but will be in the future at www.policyforum.co.uk
