News > PiF membership news

We're delighted to announce that we have three new regional coordinators - for the East Midlands, for the North West and for Yorkshire and Humber. They are:

East Midlands - Gretta Smalley,Communications Manager - Websites, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust

North West - Gary Birkenhead, Patient Information Centre Manager, Tameside General Hospital

Yorkshire and Humber - Terry Cawley, Senior Project Manager, NHS Doncaster. Terry is also a member of PiF's advisory Group.

We have had a number of co-ordinators step down so we also have some vacancies to fill - in Wales, the North East of England, South Central England and London. Sarah Greening, Health Information Co-ordinator, and West Midlands Co-ordinator for PiF explains what she gets out of the role:

"Fortunately, being a PiF Regional Co-ordinator fits in very well with my day job - being part of my remit for my job in the Health Authority so the benefits outweigh the small amount of work required. The position adds a 'national' aspect to my work which is good for the CV/Job grade etc. I feel I have access to contacts across the UK to answer any enquiries and share resources with. It is also useful having direct access to the other West Midlands members for more local information/resources/event-sharing etc."
