The 2nd World Non-Profit & Social Marketing Conference invites submissions of academic, practice, debate, case study and strategy papers. The goal of the 2nd World Non-Profit and Social Marketing Conference is to engage everyone with an interest in tackling key social challenges by providing a dynamic venue for learning and sharing. You can submit papers for workshops, speed presentations (posters) and seminars. Closing date is 18 June 2010.

The 2nd World Conference will bring together those interested in applying strategic communications, marketing and behaviour change methodology to solve key social challenges. Focus will be on the policy implications for the emerging evidence base for effective social program design and what this means for future investment, delivery and evaluation. The conference takes place in Dublin in April.

Six reports and a summary were commissioned from the Health Services Management Centre at the University of Birmingham. They examine evidence and good practice relating to the content, format and delivery of information for patients and the public. They also give practical information, advice and guidance in a concise and easy to follow format.

Commissioning guide for promoting health and well-being

This month will see the launch of a new commissioning guide for promoting health and well-being by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH), in partnership with the National Social Marketing Centre. Practical and accessible, the Guide is based on the many developments that have taken place in the practice of health promotion and social marketing in recent years.
