Geraldine Mynors
PiF Development Director, joining Mark Duman and Sarah Smith as the third PiF Director


Geraldine Mynors has been appointed as Development Director for PIF, where she will be responsible for developing PIF’s strategy, governance and performance management, delivering PIF projects and helping to develop the organisation to the next level. 

Based in London, Geraldine runs a consultancy specialising in measuring and improving the patient experience.  She began her career as an NHS hospital manager, working in London and Birmingham before joining McKinsey and Company.   She was part of a small team which set up unLTD, the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs, which won a £100m endowment from the Millennium Commission to create social enterprises across the UK. 

Geraldine was Head of Projects at Medicines Partnership, a DH programme aiming to help patients get more out of medicines by involving them as partners in treatment decisions.  In this role she led a project to train pharmacists with a special interest in Parkinson’s Disease and brought together patients and health professionals to develop MSDecisions.org, a web-based decision aid for people with Multiple Sclerosis.  She was closely involved in the inception of the Ask about Medicines campaign.  Geraldine has a degree from Oxford University and an MBA from London Business School.

Mary Hanbury
PiF Regional Co-ordinator for London (replacing Beverley van der Molen and Jane Wilson)


Mary originally trained as a nurse in 1977 at University College Hospital, London, following this she trained as a District Nurse. Whilst working as a District Nurse Mary developed an interest in cancer and palliative care. She then worked in local hospices, as a Marie Curie Nurse, and as a Macmillan Nurse and later as a Cancer Lead Nurse during this time Mary became aware of the importance of good quality information being available to patients and carers and how this can affect their experience of a cancer diagnosis. From 2002 Mary has been managing a Macmillan Cancer Information and Community Support Service, which has been looking at innovative ways of delivering information to the local community. Mary is currently on secondment as a Project Manager within the Cancer Information Prescriptions Project.
