NPCi, the National Prescribing Centre's web site has added new training resources on patient and public involvement, including case studies, a library of resources and learning objectives. The resources are aimed at pharmacists but would be relevant for other health care disciplines.
The resources available aim to help enable readers to:
- Understand why patient and public involvement is important
- Identify the most appropriate methods to use to involve patients and the public in their area of work
- Understand what is needed to make the best of patient and public involvement
Applying the learning will enable users to consider involving patients and the public, resulting in the potential for:
- A service that continually improves to meet the needs of patients and the public
- Greater patient and public involvement in the services provided
