National Voices
For those of you who weren't aware of it the Long Term Conditions Alliance had transformed into a new organisation called National Voices. National Voices aims to change health and social care by:
- bridging the divide between people and policy-makers by influencing health and social care policy from conception to implementation
- bridging the gap between people’s experiences and policy
- strengthening the voice of national voluntary organisations, large and small
- reflecting the diversity of service users and the diversity of their needs
- working with regulators, professions, Government and Parliament and campaigning on behalf of all patients, carers and service users
The National Voices website has now been re-launched to include a new discussion forum facility.
Following the launch of the Department of Health’s Prescription Charges Review, chaired by Sir Ian Gilmore, National Voices has met with Sir Ian to discuss how our members can feed into the review process and will be contributing to stakeholder consultation events between now and the publication of the review’s findings in Spring 2009.
For National Voices to maximize its impact on the review it is going to be important for us to gather as many views on this topic as possible, and as the first stage in this process we would be grateful for your input on the forum, which is available at www.nationalvoices.org.uk/forums/topics/prescription-charges-review
