News > Producing and disseminating health information
A new section on the King’s Fund website pulls together all its analysis and work on the issues surrounding the NHS White Paper and points the reader in the direction of useful resources elsewhere on the web. The web pages include responses to the White Paper, 10 challenging questions about the White Paper and news and events related to it. There are several blogs on issues in the Paper, which can be accessed from the site:
- The White Paper: the challenge for NHS leaders
- Will peer review improve performance for GP consortia?
- Will reconfiguration improve quality and save money?
- Lessons from America: achieving integrated health systems
- What role for information in the new NHS?
- Equity and excellence: will the paper achieve all it sets out to?
Information is destined to have a key role in the new vision for the NHS. The NHS White Paper published last week sees GPs shaping local services according to the preferences of their patients, with consortia of GP practices replacing primary care trusts (PCTs) as the lead purchasers of health care. It talks of an ‘information revolution’ that will make information more readily available to support patients’ choices about their care, and to increase public accountability.Veena Raleigh at the King's Fund leads this blog with a discussion piece, you can also leave your comments and contrinbute to the discussion.
