PiF West Midlands Partnership event

Mon 31st January 2011, NHS West Midlands, Birmingham

60 staff from all sectors across the West Midlands attended the PiF Partnership Conference which was sponsored by Capita's Information Standard and the Society of Chief Librarians (SCL) and funded and supported by PiF.

The morning consisted mostly of region-wide news including the launch of the Public Libraries' Health & Wellbeing Toolkit and the signed MOU between NHS West Midlands and the SCL and news about EQUIP's migration onto NHS local. There was a networking session where delegates were split geographically into groups for some partnership work and planning for this year's Health Information Week.

After lunch there was a series of presentations, sharing information about great examples of partnerships that are showing impact on local communities. Delegates had opportunity to bring their own leaflets and fliers to the information table and browse these and PiF materials in the breaks as well as talking to Capita and NHS local who had stands at the conference.

The conference venue was full and we had a waiting list so there is definitely interest in such events for the future or to replicate in other regions. Sarah is happy to share her experiences/lessons learned with anyone - sarah.greening@westmidlands.nhs.uk.
