PiF South West Event
Consumer health information in the digital world

Monday 14 November 2011, 12.00pm – 16.30pm
University of Bristol Student's Union, Bristol

The last decade has seen some far reaching changes in the way consumer health information is developed, produced and shared. There was a time when information was all about the leaflet and access to these was through ‘gatekeepers’ like GPs and nurses. All that is changing. Although there is still a need for the paper based written word, far reaching changes in technology are now fundamentally changing the way people access and use information. Information producers are changing too - user-led, audience specific, multi-format resources are now the norm for many.

This half day Patient Information Forum event explored the role of digital media in the production and provision of high quality health information for patients and the public.
