The DISCERN© tools are questionnaires for appraising health information available to the public.  DISCERN Genetics is for use with information on genetic screening and testing.  The tools have been developed at the University of Oxford and are used internationally to:

  • Help information users and providers to assess information quality and to select appropriate information

This workshop is designed for anyone interested in health information quality and learning to apply DISCERN.  During the workshop you will:

  • Use DISCERN to appraise patient information and to discuss quality issues in a group setting
  • Explore how DISCERN can help you, your family, clients or service users make informed choices about healthcare
