Lord Darzi, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, has been asked by the Prime Minister and Secretary of State for health to identify a way forward for a 21st Century NHS for England. An interim report of his finings has alreayd been published and phase two of the reiew is already underway. Lord Darzi's letter and the interim report contain more detail about the review.
