Jeremy Theobald


Jeremy has worked in health publishing since 1994, when he started at Current Science. He has since worked for Mosby-Wolfe, BT Batsford, United Business Media, John Willey and Sons, and the Emerging Health Threats Forum. He ran a freelance business for five years, doing everything from commissioning, development, project management, design, illustration, copyediting, layout, proofreading and print management. 

Jeremy now works for Bupa where he manages the Health Information Team which produces evidence-based, award-winning consumer health content, in print and online. Jeremy develops editorial strategy to support annual and three-year business plans, manages resources to meet the requirements of business units, ensures the delivery of high-quality products, on time and within budget, and sets and maintains editorial standards. 

Jeremy was Treasurer for the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for five years where he kept full accounts, ensured a surplus and that resources were spent in line with policy. He ran training exercises at annual seminars, and represented COPE and presented at international research integrity conferences. He registered COPE as a charity and a limited company, becoming trustee and director.
