Membership categories and fees

Membership is open to any organisation or individual working in the field of health information for patients and the public, or anyone with an interest in the area. You choose the membership that suits your needs and those of your organisation.

You can join PiF at anytime of the year. Your annual membership begins from the time when you submit your application.

Member categories and benefits

Individual and small team membership

This is aimed at independent consultants, freelancers, small organisations, students and service users. Individuals from any organisation can join as an individual member. However, any member benefits will apply to the named member only, not to anyone from the wider organisation. All individual members of PiF will receive:

  • PiF aware email newsletter weekly
  • Access to all areas of the PiF web site and the PiF e-community
  • Able to make use of the PiF query service
  • Reduced rate fees for the PiF annual conference and PiF events
  • Reduced rates on selected journal subscriptions and resources such as books
  • Reduced rate on any publications produced by PiF
  • Access to a local country or regional co-ordinator
  • Invitations to take part in consultations and national and local policy development
  • Access to position papers on emerging themes
  • Access to e-copies of all PiF reports and discussion documents

Small team membership is open to organisations who would like between 2 and 5 of their staff  to benefit from PiF membership. Benefits are as above for all named members, plus

  • A discount of 10% off the total joining fee
  • Opportunity to sponsor the whole or part of any PiF event (excluding main sponsor for annual conference)

Organisational Membership

This membership is aimed at NHS Trusts and Boards, Strategic Health Authorities, large voluntary organisations, academic or professional bodies and corporate companies. Benefits are:

  • Individual membership benefits for up to 10 named staff (see above)
  • Use of ‘PiF Member’ logo on agreed publications and web site
  • Opportunity to sponsor the whole or part of any PiF event (excluding main sponsor for annual conference)
  • Opportunity to work with PiF to develop events in your area that meet your priorities
  • Invitation, where appropriate to one off meetings with high profile guest speakers
  • Reduced rates (10%) on recruitment adverts and adverts on PiFs newsletter/web site
  • Invitations to PiF networking events around topic of interest with other relevant members (where appropriate)

Corporate/Supporter

This is aimed at large organisations. Benefits are:

  • Individual membership benefits for up to 50 named staff
  • Use of 'PiF Supporter' logo on agreed publications and web site
  • Opportunity to sponsor the whole or part of any PiF event
  • Opportunity to work with PiF to develop events in your area that meet your priorities
  • Invitations to PiF networking events around topic of interest with other relevant members (where appropriate)
  • Inclusion on PiF supporters web page, with text, logo and website link
  • Invitation, where appropriate to one off meetings with high profile guest speakers, plus the opportunity to sponsor these
  • Opportunity to include one question in the PiF membership survey
  • The opportunity to hold one bespoke workshop or roundtable each year with PiF members (any costs are additional to membership fee)
  • One free newsletter/web site advert per year
  • Two free job adverts per year

Partner

This membership is aimed at any organisation which complements PiFs vision, values and services. It's a bespoke membership for a small number of organisations each year. A Partner membership involves working closely with PiF on areas of mutual interest, for the benefit of both parties. Benefits include individual membership for up to 100 named staff, use of the PiF Partner logo, invitation to a PiF's executive circle event and the opportunity to work on areas that are of interest to you. Subscription Information and Fees

Membership subscriptions run from the month that you join for a, period of one year. Fees listed below are for one years membership, discounts are available if you sign up for a three year period. All fees are exclusive of VAT.

Individual and small team
Subscription: £75 per person, per year.
Small teams of between 2 and 5 people get a discount of 10% off the total joining fee.

Organisation
Subscription: £1,000 per year

Corporate/Supporter
Subscription: £5,000 per year

Partner
Subscription: price on application

Payments can be made by cheque (payable to Patient Information Forum) or by BACS. Please contact secretary@pifonline.org.uk for details of BACS.

To join the Patient Information Forum complete the online form. The information on this form will be held on a database by PiF while you remain a member. It is used to maintain our membership lists and to provide you with membership services. To see a copy of our privacy policy click here.
